By most accounts the real Scaramanga was a mild, studious man with no villainous streak at all. His grandson has said the family took it well and that Scaramanga himself rather enjoyed telling people a Bond villain shared his name.\r\n\r\nThere's a second, more recent theory about where Scaramanga and Blofeld both came from. Tom Blofeld, nephew of cricket commentator Henry Blofeld, has claimed his father recognized a boy named Scaramanga in an old school photograph from Sunningdale Prep, in the same class as a young Blofeld. According to this account, both names came from prefects who bullied Fleming's own nephew, and Fleming used the novels to get a bit of payback on the boy's behalf.","character_type":"Supporting","character_status":"Unknown","character_books":"","character_series":"","character_creators":[4644],"character_agencies":"","character_organizations":"","character_record_status":"Published","character_verification_status":"Verified","character_editorial_notes":"","character_sources":null,"character_relationships":null},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/spyscribe.com\/isdb\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/_characters\/5895","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/spyscribe.com\/isdb\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/_characters"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/spyscribe.com\/isdb\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/_characters"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/spyscribe.com\/isdb\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/_characters\/5895\/revisions"}],"acf:post":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/spyscribe.com\/isdb\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/_author\/4644"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/spyscribe.com\/isdb\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=5895"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
